OK.. so my engine was going bad and i had a mechanic look at it. he wasn't totally honest with me.. but to keep it short the engine had oil leaks from the head and block. i asked him if he could do anything about and he did a couple of things. one was that he closed the vent on the outside of my car to prevent the fumes from coming in to the cabin. now that i had my engine rebuilt i was wondering how i can open that vent.

also i'm driving around at like 10.30 at night.. cool breeze outside.. i've been driving for about 30 mins now.. so since my engine was just rebuilt.. i decided to test the heat in the car.. and it's blowing mildly warm air.. not enough to keep me warm.. and it's not even cold outside.. what do i do in the winter time?

so to keep it short i'm wondering how easy it would be for me to fix my heater problem.. and if anybody had instructions.. i'm pretty sure it's the heater core.. cuz it does blow slightly warm air, but would like some opinions.

DSMs don't have water valves on the heater core, just air control doors. The core stays hot all the time. Check your control cables and see if they're connected and working. Also make sure your hack ...er, "mechanic" :)rolleyes: ) didn't just loop the heater hose.

thanx for the tip defiant.. i was going through the haynes dsm book and it said there was a heater coil.. so i thought that had to be replaced. do you happen to know where the outside vents are. as one of the fixes for my car.. one of my mechanics closed the external vent. when i have the the knob set to fresh air.. no air comes in.. so i'd like to open it again.

i actually read some of your old posts. one was the website for http://search.epnet.com/. that was a very cool site but the username and password doesn't work anymore

thanx for all the help
