hey guys...here is the situation. i took the 91 talon awd(mods with drivetrain..2600 clutch) and launched the car at 5k. this time when i launched it i heard a big BANG coming from the front of the car.the car felt like the e-brake was on and would hardly move. i was not even 2 blocks away from my house so i drove it back. so i assumed it was the tranny(center diff) or the trasnfercase. i dropped the tranny and the t-case,both looked to be in good shape. while i was dropping the trans i noticed that both of my inner axel boots were ripped and i had just replaced the driver side axel less tahn 2 months ago. so after i had everything off i had a feeling that it wasnt the axels that were causing the car not to move. so i had all four tires in the air with the t-case and tranny off and went to the rear wheels.
This is the situation, when i turn the driver side rear wheel the passenger side rear wheel does not turn with it nor the the drive shaft turn. When i turn the passenger side rear wheel, the drive shaft turns and sometimes the rear driver side wheel would turn then would stop turning. So i went to go look at the inner boots of the rear axels. when i looked at the passenger side and moved it up and down there was little to no play. then i went to the driver side and there was more play, and (well i dont know what its called but ill try to describe it best i can) where the rear driver side axel connets to the differential.. that part was sticking out more ont he drive side than the passenger side. now i have no idea what the problem is?? any suggestions????
