Sidney,
I just can't win with this car! I just put a new head and a mitsu OEM HG on (cracked head) and now I seem to be burning oil. it is only at WOT (3/4 there is no sign what so ever) and right when I start up (not cold starts, only hot, and only a puff then it's gone). Other thing is I seem to be spraying oil everywhere, all over my exhaust and intake manifolds (not on the t-belt or transmission side)

Heres what I've checked so far..

When I put the head on I made sure it was straight (it was milled)

Made sure all the vacuum hooked up correctly

New valve cover gaskets and torqued the cover to barly hand tight

Checked the valve cover for cracks

I do have unusually high compression (the engine was rebuild 1000kms ago) 175 on all cylinders

What do I do now?

The leak seemed to slow down. I put down a thin layer of RTV and leak seems mostly gone.

As for the smoke...well thats another story.

Checked my UICP for oil, there seemed to be a super thin layer but not much. I did however take a closer look at the exhaust manifold and noticed that oil seems to bubble out from where the gasket meets the manifold. Unfortunatly still doesn't tell me where this oil is comming from. Any help would be greatly appreaciated

I removed the p.o.s. cracked pace setter exhaust manifold and exchanged it for a 2g manifold. Here's the problem. The person who had the car before me broke almost all the studs in the head. I only have the two end ones on the top and three studs across the bottom. I tightened them up the best I could and ran the car for a few miles. As I was driving the manifold started leaking and getting louder and smoking. I drove the car home, by this time it was loud as hell and smoking so bad I could barely see out of the windshied. Once I pulled the manifold there was hardly anything left of the gasket and an oil leak. There are no leaks visable on the head or valve gasket. The oil was burning on the o2 housing. Where can the oil be comming from?
