Okay...where to begin...about 3 weeks ago my T25 died on me. I bought a used 14b for $20 and put it on. Wasn't as smooth as it sounds, but i found out that the seals were shot on the 14b about a day and $110 after i put it on. So, week 3 rolls around and i desperately need a new turbo so i can get around (my car is my dd). So I purchase an Evo 3 Big 16G from the local speed shop, and since i don't have time or tools, they installed it too. So all goes well...for a day or two. Since i am on the stock fuel system the car is just running slow, too much fuel or too little is being shot into the engine for the Evo 3, i dunno i don't have the money for a logger. Last night I drop my buddy off and am driving home. As soon as I hit boost (~3000rpm, 10psi) i hear something bad, cant recall the sound, i just know something bad happened. As soon as it made this sound the power from the boost just felt gone. So i pull off to the side and notice that the idle is REALLY odd. It keeps surging, down to 300rpm, back up to 750...repeat. I go to push the clutch in and the car dies. Somehow i manage to drive it home. Today I had to go to school and work. Getting to school was okay, the idle was still a bit messed up and whenever i depressed the clutch pedal the rpms would drop. Driving to work sucked. As I was on the highway in 5th gear, i would go to accelerate and the engine would try to go faster, but it wouldn't really. No power at all. I dropped it into 3rd to see if it would have any power that way, but instead it just helped to slow me down. I noticed that when in third and i slammed the gas that my turbo would spool up to 10psi at 3000rpm, then immediately stop spooling, then would spool up a little to 5psi or so, and keep surging like this. Almost to work I am getting off the ramp and my car dies when i hit the clutch pedal, i was able to put it in third and dump the clutch and bring it back to life, but when i had to stop i had to keep a foot on the gas in order for it not to die. Coming home from work sucked horribly. I think my engine is dead. As i was driving, the same situation happened on the highway, no power at all and bad sounds, such as a really loud whirring sound. when i got off the highway at a stop light, i had to do as earlier, but it still died. i depressed the clutch and turned the key and i think it backfired like 6 times before starting, the rear end was shaking and making pop sounds. not cool. i was able to put it into first and i had to slam the gas in order for it to even start to creep along. No power AT ALL. I drive along and hit another stop light, the same thing happens again. Now when i finally get it moving the engine is making a horrible horrible nasty sound. Also, oil pressure is slowly going down. I barely managed to make it home and now i want to stab my car. any help is appreciated and thanks for reading this long post.
Also noticed that the water lines are installed backwards on the 16g, could this be harmful at all, seeing as how water is pumped through it so would the inlets be interchangeable?
