I have a 91 plymouth laser rst fwd..I recently changed the head gasket on my car and i put it back together yesterday and now it wont start..I checked to make sure it was gettin fuel and spark and it was getting both..I double checked the timing and it was correct...the car ran fine before i changed the head gasket and now it wont even start..I'm clueless  ..Can neone think of nething it could be or i could check?...thanks.

iknow it sound dumb
but check all the grounds
my friend had the same problem
and none of the ground were
making good contact

:laser:
I checked the grounds...everything seemed to be pretty tight...I cleaned the surface underneath the grounds with a wire brush for a better contact. Does your friends engine turnover and everything just wont quiet crank? Any other ideas on this would be appreciated  ...thanx

:laser: rst
The engine will turn over and over but just wont start...it acts like its starved for gas or spark but its not bc we checked for both by removing the number 1 spark plug and turned it over...I put new plugs in there but I didnt set the gap...could it have anything to do with it? the plugs said they were pregapped...we checked the fuel by taking theline off the end of the rail where it recirculates..anything esle?

Make sure the CAS is not 180° out of phase. Next thing to do would be to run a compression test.

P.S. Don't forget to double check the timing.

:laser: rst
Checked the CAS...it seemed to help it some but it still wont start...Ran the compression test also and came back with 1st cylinder at 92 2nd cylinder at 94 3rd cylinder at 92 and 4th cylinder at 94...I havent got a clue what else to do... anything else on it would be great...thnx

Those numbers are pretty low. Your service limit is 121 on any cylinder. Look down into the cylinders. Do you notice any fluids pooling on top of the pistons?

:laser: rst
No fluids pooling...I need to know how to check my valves or my piston rings without doing a complete tear down....someone was saying it could be a bent valve..but is it possible to get that high of a reading with a bent valve? how can I check it with out pulling it down? :sosad:

:laser: rst
I checked the rings on my car and they were fine...I think if anything its gonna be the valves or valve seals...I dont know how else to check it other than taking it off...
