Ok Guys here's how it happened. My car has had a problem with the front o2 for a lil while. So finally, i replaced it. Everything was fine for a while. Then it began...
The CEL came back on. So I keydanced it, checked the results and it came up o2. I just replaced it though! So I reset it, cleared the code. Then it comes on again a week later, same deal. So by now I gave up on the key dancing already and bought myself a pocket scanner. P0139, o2 sensor, the rear o2. I was driving home from school today, still haven't replaced it, they're kinda high and i'm a college student who works at walmart for christ's sake, and noticed some freakishly loud popping sounds coming from directly under the car. After turnin the radio off, i also heard some metallic sounds, sounded like wires touching, or metal scraping or something. So i stop the car, take a look under it, and lo and behold my o2 sensor is actually dragging on the ground.so there's the metallic sound. Could the popping sounds just be my exhaust dealing with excess fuel or something? I've only heard this sound come from cars backfiring, and i'm usually making fun of them... Don't let me be one of those!!!! Thanks in advance for any help. I'm just making sure I don't have a horrific problem. I've already ordered the new o2, so it's gettin replaced whether it's the cause or not.
