Well, my car has always been running great until yesterday. My car just out of no where started to struggle at idle... and now its dying if it idles. Not only that, about 3 hours after it started to struggle at idle at WOT it would sputter - near 4k. Almost like its running too rich or missing a spark. I just changed the spark plugs and I haven't changed the settings on the AFC at all. It also seems to sputter more with higher boost. I did checked out my data logger at the time it sputters and it seems that my o2s are hitting 0.00! What could this be? A bad o2? Huge vac leak? I checked all possible immediate vac lines/possible huge vac leak locations, but I didn't find anything. Ill try to do a leak test tomorrow or sunday, but Id like to know if anyone could help me out if they've dealt with similar problems.

Mods are in my profile.

Thanks.

Welp, I've finally got around to doing a boost leak test, and luckily i took off my air filter to clean it out because i found the center mass piece CRUSHED and dislodged. So yeah, I found my problem. I proceeded to do the intake leak test and I had a leak at one of my injectors, but fixed that. So, basically I'm going to use this as an excuse to get a GM MAF-T setup. My question is now that Ive been driving around like this for TWO weeks. And at least everyday I'd hit hit "fuel cut" point that I described before, at least once a day. Could I have done any damage to my car? What should I look for. I realize now that I was running REALLY lean... Any advice would be great, thanks.

You should actually be running rich. Not lean.
The sputtering at 4k under boost is in reference usually to poor ignition. Ie spark plugs, wires, coilpack, etc.
Check those while you're tearing apart the car.
How much boost were you running when you noticed this problem?

Welcome back Bruce :p

If by mass you meant MAS, it's probably the cause of your problem.

Probably not but make sure you don't push the car anymore, no excuse at all for hitting fuel cut on a daily bases :nono: , you'll also want to reset the ECU by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 30 sec. Good luck.

Welcome back Bruce
Two more days. :)

Yes, I did mean MAS - maybe I messed up while using the spell check ;)

I dont understand how I would be running rich? More air would be getting into my engine than the ECU would recognize. Plus, my o2s did go to O.

The psi, where I saw this stutter problem, varied. At first, it only set in at high psi (20ish) and then it would come on when my ebc was off (14ish). So, it didnt really matter.

Ill get the new mas and see where things go from there. As far as the new mas goes, I have the greddy upper IC pipe. If i just cut it and stick the mas in, there wont be a problem, will there?
