Clutch question

I have a 1991 gsx that dont move.The I guy I bought it from said its got to be the clutch or the clutch slave cylinder he bought it like that and he cant remeber wich one the previous owner said was bad..He had to go to iraq and didnt have time to work on it but he said he thinks it is the slave cylinder that needs to be replaced...The motor is strong doesnt miss or knock or smoke..I only paid 800 plus a supra with a blown motor..The car is lowered has a full body kit 3inch intake..Well anyway I was wondering if there is a way to tell a bad slave from a bad clutch...A awd clutch swap is killer and I dont want to replace a good slave cylinder...Thanx guys

What do you mean by doesn't move? Can you get it in gear at all?

Well anyway I was wondering if there is a way to tell a bad slave from a bad clutch...

Is the slave cylinder (bolted to the tranny) rod engaging the clutch fork and moving it when the clutch pedal is depressed? Is it leaking? Also check the clutch master cylinder for leakage, low oil level. If checks ok, may want to bleed the clutch line (bleeder on the slave cylinder) and try again.

A awd clutch swap is killer and I dont want to replace a good slave cylinder...Thanx guys

It' s not a difficult job for a DIYer, and a tranny shop would charge $250-300
