I have a 90 GST and I recently installed my air fuel gauge from auto meter. I pretty sure I installed it correctly. I found the oxygen sensor wire and plug it in to that. When i start the car the gauge does nothing, only after a little while of running the car, about 7 minutes or so it will finally start reading at the very first light for lean, the longer I run it the more it starts reading further to the middle, but it never gets past the first two yellow LEDs. Car was just rebuilt and runs perfect. Does anyone know whats wrong with the gauge?

Autometer AF gauges suck. Reading AF off a narrow band oxygen sensor is VERY inaccurate.

I would never tune or even bother with a narrow band AF Gauge. I run an FJO wideband on my car, some would consider it overkill but it works for me.

Some of my other friends have the same gauge on 1Gs and it works perfect, just confused why it didnt work on mine.

You don't splice the wires into your o2 sensor in the enginebay, You need to get tap each wire(the 3 of them) in seperate pins on the ecu. After you have done that, It should work fine. Although, I would not suggest tuning off of what the gauge is telling you.

Good luck.

I didnt splice any wires, I attach a male spade connector to the lead from my guage, connect it to the wire that carries the oxygen sensor signal. Its taped to a bundle under the right side passenger kick panel, there is a single wire with a female plastic connector on the end.
