I've been struggling for a day or two to get this misfire under control after dropping in my new built motor. But that's now what this is dealing with.

I had been doing a boost leak test to try and sort out any leaks to fix my previous problem. It had been idling around 3000RPMS, and misfiring like crazy. So I go inside to take a break. My friend had been over trying to help me solve the problem. I hear my car start up, and low and behold, it sounds like it's idling around where it should be..

So I run outside and ask my friend what he did. To my horror, I still note the boost leak tester on the freaking compressor intake of the turbocharger. I start screaming, and he shuts it off.

What damage has been done to the turbocharger.? The car barely even turns over now because it sounds like horrible metal on metal crunching. The turbo now spits oil out of the compressor inlet and outlet side. I got frustrated and called it a day, so I haven't pulled the turbo off and taken it apart to see what kind of damage lays in wait. What kills me is that the motor "should" have died, but didn't forwhatever reason... so i think the turbo just kind of killed itself. Any kind of insite into what kind of damage I am looking at.?

Did the turbo ingest any pieces of the boost leak tester? If it did it went in your motor, if it didn't I don't understand how it killed the turbo. My guess is it ate it. I'm sorry, slap your friend

You get that oil filter housing I sent you yet?

sure did! thanks again for that. NOthing went into the turbo, but it was pulling pretty hard.... I'm wondering if the exhaust side of the turbien was turning because of the exhaust, but the compressor side wasnt' because of lack of flow.

It still turns very freely by hand.. It just spits out tons of oil now...

I'm going to take it off the car now, so I'll post back with the damage.

Well. I pulled the turbo and took it apart. There is no damage from what I can tell. I reassembled it, and from what I can tell, it has quit spitting oil. I just now need to find out why my car refuses to run right. But that is a different problem in itself.
