Thanks to all that have helped this noob already. Hopefully, you provide the same kind of help again!! Got a 95 N/T Eclipse that has a possibly apparent problem. When I start it, it cranks right up, smooth up to 1300-1400 rpm, drops to about a grand after a few seconds. No miss, no fuss. After about 5 min or so, start getting a little smoke, and water drops out of the muffler. Still, no missing or anything. When sneaking a drive around the block, engine pulls smooth and strong, with this cool 007 smoke screen behind me. I tried some 'liquid glass' (I know, I know!), but it had no effect. I've also got a CEL. I tried the key trick, and got the following....I think?

1-2-4-3-4-3-5-5

Any ideas?

Oh, and a little history:

I have noticed NO apparent loss of water or oil, nor have I seen any mixing either in the radiator or oil.

Car sat for 1 1/2 years with about a gallon of gas...yes, its still in there! (I know, I know)

I don't know for sure if it's smoke or steam. I was thinking steam for sure, but it lingers a little too long....a good rev puts out a 4' sphere of 'something'. Lingers for 3-4 seconds.
Just for the record, it's 99 degrees with 40 percent humidity. Don't know.

Registration, inspection expired, otherwise I'd get to A-Zone for a 'real' code check.

Thanks for the help, and I apologize for the long post!

WTF
Forgot to mention:
I realize that I need to perform a comp test, gonna have to get a loaner this weekend.

Also, I heard that a comp test is not always a sure sign of a blown hg. Doesn't make sense to me though.

Thanks again,

Mike

hmmm i would think its the hg. and i dont know the codes for the cel but maybe you fouled the o2 sensor? im not quite sure. maybe its just the gas from sitting for so long. id say run that take dry and get some new gas in there and see if that changes anything. good luck. hopefully someone who knows the codes comes in here.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering....do you think that if the tank sat empty for so long, the condesation would be enough that the car would actually smoke? Kinda doubtful, huh?
