a BAD miss shift...

ok, this is pretty embarrassing but I need help. tonight i was at the track and i when i went from 2nd to third gear..i missed third. wait..not only missssed third but slammed it right into first! at 6000rpm! ive been driving stick for a long time so i was pretty sdurprised too. anyway..on the way home (i had the stock boost solenoid on at this point with restrictor removed), i noticed that the boost was at 14 psi. the stock solenoid never let it boost up to 14 even with the restrictor out. also, in acceleration, the power surgers a little. oh, and a rough idle. i REALIZE slamming from 2nd to first is bad. VERY bad. but does anyone know whats happening here? my baby is sick!

You are terribly lucky you didnt blow your clutch to peices. Id check your plugs as previously suggested, but its pretty much a waiting game. Whatever damage that has been done will surface eventually. Good luck there cheif.

i too have been driving stick for a while, and every once in a while i will catch my self going from 2-1 or 4-3, luckily i always catch myself

ya i knew i was lucky i didnt blow the clutch or the whole dang tranny. it was like hitting the brakes. i was racing a turbo civic and i was winning..until i DOWNshifted. when i was driving back from the run after i got my slip i was coasting in 2nd and the car stalled. i started it again and holy sh....ive never smelt clutch so bad. so the plugs could get damaged from that huh? (im not really smart as you can tell..says the one slamming into first)

They're telling you to check your plugs to see if you damaged your engine at all. More specifically, slamming a piston into your plugs. I doubt it though. More often than not when you mis-shift like that you're going to hurt your clutch and tranny. Our motors are pretty tough. I would do a tranny flush/filter. Look over everything and make sure you're okay.

ok i pulled the plugs and their ok. put them back..and i have no more issues. kinda wierd. i did replace the hose from my gauge with thicker hose because it was squishing under the pressure. idk if that would have anything to do with it but thoise r the only things i did. i checked the oil just to see if it was black or anything wierd like that (cause i had just changed it 2 days ago). its ok. it seems to have fixed itselff.....maybe itll come back ill tell u guys if it does..
