leaking bov

ok so I did the dodge garage mod to my 1g bov and it did fine until I went to a blow thru setup, and now even coasting without the gas at around 35 I hear a constant beeping as well as after every shift. I thought the dodge garage mod was suppose to stop leaking?

'dodge garage mod'? You mean crushing it?

Okay, info. The 1G 'bov' is actually a CBV. The difference is that it not only opens under pressure, it also opens under vacuum (like at idle, or when engine braking). Meaning if you aren't still recirculating, you're bringing in unfiltered air through it, even if it's metered by the blowthrough.

Common new owner error, though at least you did set it up for a blowthrough, assuming you're going for the atmosphere-vent BOV sound. Make sure your vacuum lines are connected correctly, aren't leaking, and are providing vac at idle.


You'll need to buy an actual blow off valve to replace it, instead of the stock CBV, if you want to do it right. That or just set it up to recirculate again.

I thought the the spring would be stiffer so that it wouldn't leak, so you are saying that the 1g is the only bov that doesn't work to with the blow through setup? I didn't do the blowthrough setup for the bov sound but for my performance goals, but you are saying that it opens up under vacuum also?
