time it takes all depends on the person's skills some people can do it in a matter of hours some people take a few days and some people take years or even decades or never finish it all.

throw it together correctly add coolant, change oil and start. also when putting it together some people will use half the bolts and nuts they took out and it will still work fine, those people always amaze me they are the true mechanics, wish i had that talent, someone needs to teach me how to do that i always take my time and get them all back in.

I am not 100% sure but if I rember correctly the head bolts are 1 time use only. Because of how they torque in it actually streatches the bolts. They work fine as lons as they are in but once you take them out they are junk. I would highly recomend changing them along with the head gasket.

1G head bolts are reusable. 2G head bolts are TTY (Torque To Yield) bolts.
It wouldn't hurt to change them, though.

I am just finishing my headgasket replacement up this week. It is taking me longer than originally anticipated due to a few issues along the way. Just a few helpful hints for you. . .

- Make sure you have all of the tools you need including a good torque wrench and the timing belt tools

- Be prepared to replace gaskets and seals that you may expect to reuse, or didn't know existed.

- Check your timing belt and water pump while you are in there, its the best time to replace them while you are that deep.

- It is very nice to have a designated parts-getter on the day you are changing it!

BTW, I used a cometic gasket and arp head studs when I replaced mine.

Good luck with everything!

Did you have your head machined flat? If not you MAY have a problem with your headgasket sealing but I'm not sure some have problems some don't. Also what did you torque your headstuds down to? Most go with 80-85lbs with the ARP studs. Hope it all works out :thumb:
