Rear brake issues....

My left rear brake is sticking burning up my pads and rotors. I've just replaced the brake master cylinder, LR caliper, rotor and pads and disconnected the ebrake cable because it was sticking also. But still the brake won't let go. I'm at a loss, there's no reason it should be sticking. Any help would be appreciated.

Sometimes a hose will collapse internally and not allow the brake fluid to return to the master cylinder. What happens is that you have pressure pushing the fluid into the caliper so it's no big deal to get the fluid in, but there is no pressure pushing the fluid back out of the caliper, so it just does'nt want to go if there is any restriction in the line. Try cracking the bleeder on that caliper to see if it then releases, if it does then try replacing the hose for that wheel. Also if you bought a cheapo master cylinder it might just be junk and not allowing the fluid to return to it.

I think it's the brake hose. Master cylinder is from the dealer so it should be good for what I paid. I ordered the new hose so we'll see. Hopefully this will be the last of the brake virus.

I was having similar troubles with one of my 90 models (sticking back brakes). I rebuilt the calipers myself instead of dropping off all that money for one rebuilt at the parts store.

The rebuild kits cost me $10.04 for both back calipers. The fronts were cheaper than that.
The 'kit' includes every darn piece of rubber, seal, etc. on the brake assembly.
I added up the cost of the rebuild kits, paints / primers, and brake cleaners and figured that it cost me about $12.00 per wheel to rebuild the whole brake assembly to 'as new' condition. FWIW, It only takes @30 min to an hour (not counting painting time) to clean and rebuild a caliper if you are slow like me...

I mention this because you said you 'replaced' your caliper. Check into a rebuild kit next time. It is easy as heck to do and will save you some $$$ for other stuff...
