HI,
I have been having a problem with my 92 nt talon 2.0. I think the fuel pump is going on the car, but I am not sure. When the car has been sitting for a little while and I try to start it, it will start for a second, run bad and then die. I can keep doing this for a while and then it will catch and I will be able to drive like normal. Normally after it does start the check engine light will be on for a little while then it turns off. If I turn the car off while the check engine light is on, the car will not start for a while again. When it is off the car starts up just fine. To me it seems like the engine isn't getting any fuel, or maybe too much and it is flooding. I tried seafoam incase the injectors were stuck but that didn't work. Can anyone help me. Thanks!

Was there anything of significance that you did to the car that might be related to this problem or did happen over time?

Have you replaced your fuel filter lately? What do your plugs look like?

It would be nice to see what the CEL code was. Do you know anyone local with a datalogger? If not can get one for < $20 on eBay.

Seafoam for the injectors???

Anyway, do you think you may have water in the tank or bad gas.

Go to the parts stors and get a additive to remove water from you gas. Preferable isopropal alchol.

Also like DSM90AWD stated, whats your plugs look like, what gap, how are your wires looking and have you chaged your fuel filter?

Well, I let the car sit most of the winter because I was trying to sell it and it didn't have much gas in it...dumb I know. But I noticed the day before it started happening it took me two times cranking the engine before it started. I drove regularly for a week before it started happening. I changed the fuel filter not even 10K miles ago and the spark plugs are new as are the wires.
