Last night I drove home and it was about 1000 oclock at night and i realized my boost gauge was reading some crazy numbers like i would be in third gear and at about 5-6k it would shoot up to 2.0 bars of boost when i have it set to 1.0bars of boost, i recently had a 3" down pipe put on but besides the point i woke up this morning to go start my car and i had no power steering so i was pissed but I had to go to work so i tried driving with no power steering and like five min down the road i started overheating big time and I need someone to please help me to figure this problem out, i also have my check engine light on( i thought it was becuase of no cat) and the check battery light is on and the check engine coolant light was on. All of which i checked(battery good, and coolant level is good)someone please help me get my dsm back on the road.....

Two things, one is a pretty radical idea but makes sense...you might have blown a headgasket from running too much boost, which explains the overheating. But before all that, check your belts...I'm wondering if somehow your power steering belt and your waterpump belt took a shit...I don't beleive there on the same belt, but if one broke, it could have taken out the water pump belt...which could explain the CEL. Just a suggestion though.

NEVER drive a car if somethings wrong with it and you dont know what it is...

dude you were right on with that i was checking my belts out right as you were prolly posting that reply and what do you know the freakin belt was off , not broke but somehow it came off which seems impossible because i had to parallel park it before i turned it over to the turbo timer last night....but im going to take pics and show you so maybe you can tell me how to get my dsm back on the road.....

here are those pictures i was speaking of

i dont know why but ill check it out, i dont know if thatll have something to do with it just coming off or what but ill check it out, im just trying to get that belt back on.....

can someone please tell me how to get the damn belt back on, it would be very appreciated...

Are you talkin about the alternator belt or PS belt or both?

You have to loosed the alternator by the adjuster screw. In your picture above it is the one you can see right there under the ps pump.

The power steering pump has a bracket on it opposite side as the belt with two 12 mm bolts holding it. Loosen those and the pump will slide on that bracket giving you some slack.

if its turning over very quickly, and sounds like no resistance when it does, i'd check out the timing belt.

its not turning over or anything just tickingvery fast....

alright i got the belt to stay on there and i got the car to start, but now i think i have the belt on too tight cause the car is just making this clanking noise from that area and im wondering if i got it too tight....someone please inform me if the altenator belt is too tight would that cause the noise and if you want to hear it i got it on video and ill send you the file just pm me

Check your harmonic balancer.

Well defiant was right, bad harmonic balancer, i took it too midas (talked him into looking at it without charging me) they showed me the harmonic balancer shaking and moving like a b*tch, so they offered to fix it for me for like 300 dollars. i didnt want to shell out that kind of money, so i went to a mitsu dealer and got the part ($150) :notgood: and came to work today got all the tools together and swapped that b*tch out, it only took me like 1.5 hours and thats only cause the damn 4th bolt on the hb wouldnt come off without the crank spinning like a mother ......so after grabbing a buddy we got that b*tch off and saw how messed up the rubber bushing on the inside of the old HB was destroyed. tightened all the belts checked everything over and voila, started her up and no more clanking everythings good she runs smooth again and now i just gotta figure out my boost problem.........Thanks D :thumb:
