my car died on my a couple days ago, and i took to a mech and he says it needs a new engine because the engine locked me out, i asked him what it meant and he said it wont work. can anyone explain this to me? he wants to get a new engine and i asked him if he can fix it he said new used or rebuilt engine only.

He may be saying that the motor seized..in other words can't turn over at all.

That would suck.

Do you trust this mechanic?

What happened? You gave no details of how it died or anything.

What are the circumstances involved?

ive never been to this mech before but i saved a lot of money taking it to his station instead of getting it towed to my house or another station (80 bux to him like 210 in the neighborhood)

sorry there was another post with all the information, but i couldn;t find it, then i did and forgot about this one heres the link
