Help Me Please!!!!!

I am Pretty new to the dsm world. i am looking at buying a 91 plymouth laser non-turbo. But the guy said that the timing belt broke and all the valves fell into the cylinders. My friend told me this only would happen on the interfearence motor that is in a dodge neon. is the guy that owns the car on crack or is my friend?????

My friend also told me that the motor that is in the laser is junk now. Is it or can i fix it??

Someone correct me if Im wrong, but I do believe the

1.8 is non interference
2.0 nt is interference
2.0 turbo ( I know is interference)
