Alright everyone this is a long story but here it is. First of all I've had my car for about a year and I've done all the work myself. I lost my job a few months ago so I'm totally broke blah blah anyways waterpump went out and I certainly wasn't paying 450.00 to get it replaced so I decided to do it myself...

The problem

Now my car isn't working. It starts and dies after about 10-15 seconds it idles like shi* it sounds like a dirtbike only deeper and a lot of vibration.

What I did
1st time-I took off everything changed the waterpump hooked it back up and the car ran OKAY. I took it for a spin and it felt like something was wrong lacking a lot of power.

2nd time-I took everything apart lined up the timing belt tightened it all down and the car starts and shuts off on its own in 10-15 seconds. If i accelerate it a little it seems that it doesn't want to go above 1500-2000 rpms or it'll shut off even faster than it would on it's own.

At this point I dougth any valves are bent so I really don't know where to look anymore.I've spent about 2 days reading various sources and trying to figure it out but no luck yet. That's basically it I'm tryign to make it to the dsm shootout this saturday so Yea the quicker the help the better.

Thanks in advance!!

(Note I didn't use the special tool tensioner. I did all my work using chiltons and vfaq.

The vibration is probably from the rear balance shaft being 180 out. There is a 14mm bolt on the back of the block in the middle of the balance shaft tube that you can remove. Insert a screw driver in the hole, if you hit a balance shaft with the timing marks lined up, then it's out 180. also from the rough idle and poor drivability i'd say the exhaust cam is out a tooth also.
