long story, crazy problem, need help

94 laser 5spd - had a motor swap, but the guy who did it said it had some sort of sensor problem he couldnt figure out - so i went and picked up the car - even drove it on the trailer, brought it to a buddys house and discovered that it didnt have the following parts installed: crankshaft pulley, waterpump pulley, powersteering pulley and related belts, timing cover, and the engine mount; they were in the car, but not installed (hell, my exhaust clamps that go on either side of the weird mesh deal right after the header are loose, and the weird chamber just behind the mesh deal and infront of the cat has a split in it, so it sounds like a pissed off briggs and straton)... however, SOMEHOW the engine would run and even idle *after it warmed up*, but it would bog when you give it gas - then sputter and start revvin up with the sputter - like its runnin rich - blue smoke coming out of the exhaust the whole damn time, then when you let off - the rpms would drop sharply to about 500 and shake, then revs its self to idle at 12-1500 rpm. coolant level light on *maybe cause waterpump isnt hooked up* no CEL until my buddy and i started unplugging sensors and seeing if it changed how the car ran, we found one on the front part of the throttle body that made no change, there is also a hideous oil leak where the engine and tranny bolt together - prolly the rear main... even leaks when car is sitting. my car has a new fuel filter and fuel pump, and a few other parts i dont think are relevant to this... what could be wrong here??? does it just need the oil seal replaced, pulleys and belts installed, new exhaust, and a tune up? is there a sensor to blame? any and all help would be appreciated... email mailto:[email protected] or post reply - thanks.
 
ok...now if all that stuff isnt on the engine like you say i would be taking it back...considering u paid for them to do this.It would honestly be the smartest thing to do.Since if you mess with it they wont take care of whatever is wrong and also was this a shop that did it or just some guy you know?
 
What I want to know is why would you ever let it run long enough to let it get to operating temp without the wp circulating coolant? Anyway, install all the pulleys, belts, engine mount, and tighten the exhaust clamps and see how it runs. If it still does the same thing, pull the ecu out and check to see if the capacitors are leaking. Here is the link for checking/replacing capacitors. I suggest you dont replace them yourself but at least inspect the ecu for damage.
