I have a 95 GSX with an Automatic transmission. My stock T25 went out so I replaced it with a T28 from slowboy. The only other mods I have as of now is a K&N intake, 1g bov, and a Greddy profec bspec II. I spun a rod last summer and the motor was rebuilt with JE Pistons and Eagle rods. The asshole didn't put my AC back in so that's sitting in my garage. I also have lost
Around 800 miles after the rebuild I started to get this noise. I have put 4-5,000 miles on my car with this noise.

This noise was accompanied by pulled timing before 45+ MPH after 45 it seemed to drive fine.
Everyone I've talked to said it weas lifters and the mechanics at the Mitsubishi dealership all said the same thing so here's what I have done to figure this noise out up until tonight.
I bought new top line revised lifters and that did not solve the problem the noise was still there.
I was able to get a good deal on a rebuilt head with new valves so I put the new head on with my revised lifters and my original stock 2g cams. When I did the head swap I noticed the 2G CAS was broken so I have replaced it with a 1g conversion, I also replaced my exhaust manifold because it had a crack as well as a new timing belt, tensioner, and tensioner pulley. The noise is still here but the car runs great no more timing issues. I assume this had to do with the CAS being broken.
I have read it could be the flexplate so I made sure that was tight tonight and the noise was still there.
I went ahead and pulled the pan as well tonight and there was no bearing material or anything else in the pan.
Yes I am a noob and this is really starting to drive my crazy!!!
