ok... so I am parting out my 92 tsi due to bottom end issues and when removing the head It was noticed that the machine shop installed the cams caps all wrong!!! not in order and intake and exhaust were mismached too. It was ran like this for 600 miles.. the caps are the orginal caps...

Soo If I were to put them back in there respective positions would there be issues with the cam/ cap clearance???

sure, there could be!!! what you want to do is use a product called (c) PLASTIGAUGE to check clearance on each cap to cam. :dsm:

ya, definatly plastiguage them, you dont want them to fail on you while driving.

i would have check out something like that after i got the head back from a machine shop... but thats just me
