i have a 97 RS... when i am going straight, my steering wheel is turned slightly to the left and there is a slight vibration and road noise when i take a curve to the right the noise and vibration go away...a while ago i took it to a shop for a tranny rebuild he noticed my control arm needed to be rewelded to the frame, but it was not urgent...could this be a part of the problem?

Ya could be a problem.. Also have them check your ball bearings. You could always do it urself.. jack up your car and see if your wheels have any play in them.. try pushing/pulling them "/" <---- that direction to "\" <---- that direction, back and forth. and also side to side... Also, when is the last time u had an alignment? Take it to sears or somewhere cheap and have em check the alignment i dont think it costs much just to check.

I am 99% for sure that it is a wheel bearing. When they put your axles back in they probably forgot to lube it up good. One way to check is to drive your car for a while 1/2 hour or so... then jump out and feel the center of your rims. If one of them are warm that means that your wheel bearing is bad and that is a $30 or so part and it should only take half an hour to fix if your good.

could this also be causing my tire wear to be bad?

It is the top of the strut. I dunno the name of it. Its in the top of the wheel well. That arched piece and it is the bolt on the drivers side the bolt nearest to the firewall. The Strut tower slopes down and there is a bolt right next to the battery's negative ground. That nut had a plate and it was loose and the bolt is striped...but now its better...THANK YOU JESUS!
