Ok heres the deal. I was driving the other day and suddenly it started to cut out and run very rough. Barely running is a better phrase. Check engine light came on and I pulled over and turned off the motor. Checked under the hood.. nothing unusual, Temp is ok, no smoke, etc.. 5 min later i start the car and it runs better but cuts out under high boost.
Engine light is still on. I used my palm pilot to check it out and it said misfire in No1 cyl.
I pull the plugs(AC Delco's Rapid fire) Dont ever use them... The no 1 cylinder plug was ok, but the No2 plug was actually damaged, missing half of the prong. Detonation or crappy plugs...?
I replaced the plugs with NGK bpre6. And the problem went away completly. Two weeks later it came back, but not as bad, it was momentary, maybe 10 seconds, engine light came on again. I pulled the plugs again and they look, well unusual, kinda stripped like a zebra. But no residue, color is light grey and dark grey. I've never seen plugs do this.
Maybe I am running to lean? 18 lbs boost, -8 to -10 on the high settings on SAFC-2, 550's and a 190 lph pump.
Any ideas would be helpful??
Thanks a bunch guys! :dsm: :thumb:
