Shimmy

I recently had quite a bit of rattle and real bad shimmy that would come on at highway speeds. I took it into Tire Kingdom and the said that I had lost all the weights on one wheel and that they then balanced and aligned the whole thing. Now I don't have the vibration but I still have some of the shimmy. It comes on at highway speeds and doesn't change the faster I go it just stays constant. It also comes and goes at sometimes the steering wheel doesn't shake at all and sometimes it does, of course this isn't as bad as it was before I took it to tire kingdom. I am concerned about it and being that it most likely isn't the tires what else could it be?

Check for worn/loose tie rod ends (outer and inner) - outers usually go before inners. To check with car on the ground try to move the front wheels left and right by grabbing each tire at the 3:00 and 9:00 o'clock positions and pull/push hard and quick on it. There should be no play and they should not move even a fraction without both the steering wheel and the opposite wheel moving. Bad tie rod end if it does.
