I have a problem. I just put my engine in my 1995 mit eclipse GST. I dropped a 6-bolt in. i took it out for a drive and the car wont get get pressure. i looked at my gauge and it was chillen an 10 while idleing. I did a boost leak test and found out there was a massive leak around the blov. If i fix that should everything else be ok. I did a compression test and it was good across the board.
 
Thats what I got out of it. My suggestion would be to tighten down the blov. (aka b.o.v.)

I stopped the boost leak, but the car doesn't run right it is messed up. It feels like something isn't hooked up right.
 
What and where in the rpm range is it doing? You have nothing listed in your profile. You need to be more specific on whats going on.
 
oK, i try to start the car and sometimes it stays started and sometimes goes on than off. When it starts it feels like if you ever ran your car before and forgot to hook up the mas it is kid of like that. I cant get over 0 on my boost gauge. i dotn know what to do. i need help with this one. oh ya whatever range i take it to on the rpms, i dont matter. I cant get the bov to even blow off when i rev it up. i need your guys help with this one.
 
is your mas plugged in tight? are you talking about a stock boost guage or an aftermarket. because if its aftermarket and the bov whistles then you have it hooked up wrong or its bad. if its stock it doesnt mean shit but it reads from the mas so maybe you unplugged or damaged your mas
 
I'd check the if the wastegate was operating correctly. I had a 14b with a wastgate that was stuck in the open positon just enough so it wouldn't build boost. Sounds to me like you got a boost leak on top of another problem. Have you checked to see if the BOV is seizied? Have you pressure tested your intake tract? Been here before very :mad: ...good luck :thumb:
 
It reads vacum of 11 when ideling. Mos tof the time it doesn't idle right. I check the timing and the timming is on. dont know how do check the wastegate though. what if when i put the cams and the cam gears on the engine wasn't top-dead center? Could that be it. I need ot get my car running i have put to much money in to let it all go!!
 
Usally 18-20hg of vaccum is normal, being you have cams, it would be higher. Sounds like maby your off a tooth on your timing. I would check to see if the Timing belt is correctly set.

Also what mods do you have on your car?

If his wastegate was stuck open his car would idle fine, and drive fine, just wouldn't build any boost, but the car would drive with no problems.
 
I have full 3" turbo back exhaust, 510 cc injectors. Injen intake, 1gen head and block with potter rods and weisco pistons, fidenza flywheel, act 2600 clutch, 255 walbro fuel pump. afc 2, greddy profect b. Those are the main things i have done.
 
Take off the timing belt cover as if you were going to change the timing belt, and start turning the crank with a socket wrench and see if everything lines up, your gonna have to crank it a good couple of times. Have you done a timing belt before? Also did this problem just all of a sudden occur? Or has this been a consistent thing?
 
I checked it with a timing light and it was on. It just happened this time i put this engine in. It is quite strange really. The lifter knock is a littel louder than normal but it goes away when i rev it up. I never had this much trouble with the car as i do know. i just invested to much money to let it all go to waste.
 
I find it really hard to believe that you did all those mods by youself including the engine and have no idea how to check to see if the cam marks are off by a tooth. It's like wiping before you poop, just doesn't make any since. Either your a liar or you had someone else do it for you. I don't mean to bash or make fun of but i find it truly amazing. Either way good luck with it.
