Battery??? NEED HELP FAST

howdy im pretty sure i have a problem with my battery but just want to double check with the almight dsm community since iv only had this car a few months. whenever my car is idiling(sp) the gauges head lights, all get dimmer and my idle slowly goes down until it stalls out and if i rev it while the lights are fading they brighten up. while im driving you cant tell a differance. it takes about 30 seconds of idiling before my revs reach 0 and the car stalls. now im pretty sure i just need a new battery. would it be better if i got a optima yellow top cause im pretty hard on them 3000watts rms pull plus alota lights


also what kinda stores carry the optima brand keep in mind im in canada.

3000 amps / 12 volts = a 250 amp draw. There's no way the stock alternator is going to provide enough amperage for you to run this setup. You really should be running 2 batteries and all sorts of other fancy stuff for an (albeit dubious) audio setup that large. Let alone the amperage that it takes to run the lights, defroster, charge the battery, etc.
My guess if you're correct in how much current you're drawing is that the alternator cannot keep up with the load you're putting on it, and the battery's power is quickly depleted in these conditions. Even putting a modest strain on my electrical system from my audio equipment the car will only run maybe 10 minutes on purely battery power.

You battery is basically only used to start the car. If you having problems like that when its running its the altanator, like Karbon said.
