I just went through the motor and did some things like timing belt metal head gasket and some other little things. Now at idle it sounds like i put some outrageous cams in. Its real lumpy not smooth like before. Did i do my timing belt wrong? I went from chiltons to do it. runs great past idle though. any ideas?

this happened to me also...same way too...chiltons...started it up...started all right...then now ...6 months later...still lumpy...so im gonna redo it with new hg and every thing...and make sure i do it right...i also think i might have it off a tooth or two..and also the balance shaft...(it wasn't me who did all the work...unfortunately...screw that guy) but any help will help me out if u figure it out

I had my t-belt done by an independent shop once and they were one tooth off on the exhaust cam which made it lumpy as hell. I'd check those timing marks again and let us know what you find.

I checked my timing it was off by a tooth. So i did it all over. Made sure my marks were all lined up. Now it idles great and runs great. And it was the exaust cam thanks Guys. :thumb:
