Well, it finally happened.

my axle finally gave out. good thing it gave while i was sitting in a parking lot. any potential problems caused by the axle giving out while not moving? (I'm assuming it broke at the CV joint, but I could be wrong. I was backing out of the spot, and I heard a crack, got out, and realized my car was now lowered on the front driver's side. I'm now getting it roll-backed to a garage to get it worked on. Was wondering if anything besides the axle (and an alignment) might need replaced?

Tie rod ends would make one wheel toe in or out more than the other but wouldn't change how high or low it sits. Jack it up and pull the wheel off, should be fairly obvious what it is. Likely ball joint, strut or spring.

both the tie rod and the axle popped, the axle at the cv joint, the tie rod at god knows where. so, running total is now up to 900 bucks for PA state inspection, emissions testing, four new tires, replacing the axle, a tie rod, replacing that, and putting in a new oxygen sensor. AND THE GUY HAD THE NERVE TO ASK ME IF I WANTED AN OIL CHANGE!?

i'm letting a personal friend at pep boys take care of it, since it needs inspected and new tires and junk.
