Missing clips - hatch

Before I purchased my 95 eclipse, someone decided it would be a good idea to gut the hatch! The CD changer was pryed out along with all of the plastic panels that hold the spare tire. This left adleast 6 pryed up square holes where water now gets in and helps make a puddle around the windshield washer tank. I have purchased all of the replacement panels but the problem is I was told that the clips and screws and whatever else I need to mount these panels have been discontinued from Mitsubishi. Does anyone know what or where I can get these pieces, or can I just get away with a trip to the hardware store?

Yup, either vulture the scrap yards or grab up some L brackets from the hardware store and count on your handiwork being covered up.

Unfortunately our Pick your part out here only has cars in the 80's range for the most part, and I've never seen a talon little lone an eclipse(I'm in Canada) in the junkyard yet.. unless its totalled. But thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll keep my eye out! Worst case, like Defiant said, i'll have to fab it.
