My car is leak A LOT of oil. To the point now where I'm afraid to drive it..

I jacked it up tonight and took a look... but I don't really understand where it could be coming from. Any ideas? Heres some pics..

The black plastic 'shield' by the filter housing area is soaked with oil... and so are some suspension components. Most oil seems to be above the oil pressure sender

I wouldn't be so sure of that. The cover is still on there. There are other seals behind that cover and oil, being a liquid, runs downhill. Everything above that drip is suspect at this point. Take the cover off and look for the highest point of oil you can find. If you are soon to need a t-belt, I would suggest replacing all the seals t-belt and b-beltall at once.

hmm...timing belt was replaced around 12000 miles ago by the previous owner...along with the balance shafts eliminated. I'm guessing he messed up somewhere because I've found various other things on the car that have been carelessly installed/fixed.

*sigh* I guess its going into the shop..

take the cover off and get some carb cleaner and spray it off. Start the car and watch for leaks. Most likely it has to do with the bse who did it? did they use the kit? other than that it could possibly be your cam seals, crank seal, or the plug behind the oil pump sprocket. But im leaning towards the bse being the problem.
