Just air??? air in what. It isn't that hard, pop the hood and look at them yourself. You should be able to physically see if they are ripped or torn.. My guess is the front one (under the car) and the rear one are ripped.

Im thinking that your problem is more of either a wheel bearing as you said, or, it might be a bad CV joint. They dont always make a ton of noise. Sometimes they start out small, like a small vibration or wobble during hard acceleration. Have you not owned a turbocharged car before? I was just thinking that you could be hearing your turbo spool up. How does it feel or run when its making this noise? Does a 97 gst have a 4g63 or a 420a? I ask because the intake for the 4g63 is up by the right front and I belive its opposite for the 420a. Thats probably not it though. My moneys on the cv / wheel bearing.

It's a 4g63T for starters. :)

Usually wheel bearings won't thumpb/vibrate/wobble as bad when they are unloaded, IE. under hard acceleration, or turning towards the bad wheel bearing side to take the weight off of it. They are usually more noticeable under coasting/maintaining speed, and sometimes (not always) braking, or putting weight on it from a turn.

I am still leaning towards motor mounts, but it's hard to diagnose a problem when you don't hvae the car in front of you, so don't rule out wheel bearings yet!.

You have motor mounts bolted to the top of the transmission by the passenger side wheel well. (can't miss it). One is on the front of the bellhousing, near the slave cylinder, almost where the transmission bolts to the block. The last one is on the backside of the bellhousing almost where the transmission meets the block.

If it's motor mount related, it's going to be the back one and the front one. You are looking for loose bolts and ripped/torn rubber.

this is my frist turbo car, im positive that its not the turbo spooling up so im going to have the motor mount c/v and whell bearing checked . thanks alot for the help and ideas.
