AVCR after-install, display will NOT light up, buttons do

Hey guys...I just got a said "new in box" apexi avcr. I've hooked it up and soldered the connections. I dont know why and I will check it tommorow but now my HKS TT type-1 is not working.

Here is my problem: Installed the AVCR, soldered connections, DID NOT hook up the solenoid valve that attaches to the wastegate and boost source. I DID hook up the pressure sensor. When I get in the car and put it into ACC the buttons light up, the display does not. when I turn the car on the display still does not light up. Anyone have any suggestions? Can anyone with an AVCR verify that the display wont light up unless the solenoid valve is hooked up, and to a vacuum source? I tried to just hook the solenoid valve up (not connecting the vacuum tubes tho) and there was no change. The display still did not light up. Thanks for any help in advance!!!

i had same problem with apexi safc. the wiring harness had 2 grounds, one for the buttons and one for display. id recheck your ground connections. hope i helped

If the buttons light up and the display does not then your "new in box" is going to need to be returned. Let me guess you bought it from ebay?

Yea, I got it off ebay, it is definently not new in box.. (luckily the guy who sold it to me lives about 60 miles away, and I told him I was going to pick it up so he gave me his address and phone number(s) I had him ship it after i got the info) I found a few problems with the wiring harness.. the black ground wire connecting on the harness (not the avcr display side harness) was broken and just sitting in the connector area. I took a look at the harness and noticed something odd.. i will describe.. if anyone can go look at their harness for me I would greatly appreciate it let me know how your wires are hooked up...


OK. So this is how my wiring goes on the harness that connect togather. this is with the "clip" thing up, AVCR connector on the left, harness on the right please help!!!

YELLOW -----------------------------> YELLOW
BLUE --------------------------------> BLUE
BROWN -----------------------------> BROWN
WHITE ------------------------------> WHITE
PURPLE -----------------------------> PURPLE
This is where it gets strange.... and I need varification....
ORANGE -----------------------------> EMPTY
RED ----------------------------------> RED
BLACK -------------------------------> EMPTY (the black wire on this side was pulled out of the harness)
GREEN ------------------------------->EMPTY
PINK ---------------------------------> GREEN
EMPTY -------------------------------> PINK

I would think that the colors should line up...but I dont know how to get that info w/o someone lookin at their harness, PLEASE help me!!

Just for future reference...all wires should match up with each other. I got it, the unit is working properly so far!! woohoo
