Here's the deal: I use to drive a 95 talon TSi ntil some dumb bi*** rear ended me totaled the car. I bought a 97 GSX with no engine, swaped the talon engine into the eclipse. Well everything is done and as far as I know it should just fire up.....no such luck. For some reason it cranks but doesn't want to start. I checked for spark, and it doesn't seem to be getting any. I'm thinking it might have something to do with CAS. Because as I found out the 97+ models have an external CAS on the passenger's side of the engine while the 95 (my engine) has an internal one on the driver's side. I also noticed the wire harness, was a) too short and b) had a different connector/plug style. So what I did wsa cut the plug off the eclipse harnes and cut the one off the talon, then soldered thetalon plug (with the extra length wire) to the eclipse wiring harness. I'm not 100% sure if that will work, but both cars have 3 wires (red, blue, and black) that run to their respective plugs, so when I soldered them together I just matched up the wire with it's color.....Does this work??? I know I read something about inverting the CAS signal if your putting a 95 ecu into a 97+ so I was thinking that the previous owner might have had dsmlink set to invert the signal....I'm tried changing the setting but I'm not entirely sure yet how to use dsmlink (and we haven't transferred ownershi yet so I can't use their boards). But even if the signal was inverted (which it doesn't need to be since it is now a 95 ecu with a 95 CAS), it should still start right, it would just idle poorly....or am I wrong would this possibly be the cause of my problem???

That's pretty much the same way that I have mine wired up. You can test your cas one of two ways. Take it off the head. Then pull your spark plug wires out and lay them on the head. Slowly rotate the small sensor on the cas and listen for each injector to hum or watch for the spark from the boot. Every 90* you should have an injector hum. The second way is to take the blue (I think) wire off and hook up a multimeter to it. Blue (+) and ground (-). As you rotate the sensor on the CAS, it should be ~0V and then it'll go up to 4.3-4.7V. Test it out. If it's working, your problem lies somewhere else. -Drew
