Hi guys,
Here is my car specs...
1997 Eagle Talon TSI AWD - 90K miles
UIC pipe - 1G BOV
K&N
boost set to 10PSI (around stock).
Boost guage plumbed into FPR line.
Removed fuel pressure solenoid from the path.
My side mount bolts broke, dropping my engine 4". I had to have the broken studs tapped, and replaced. I cut off the AC belt for now (doesn't hurt it). I drove the car home fine, everything started fine.
Next morning...it's around freezing (33F). Car starts, warm up for a minute. Go to Reverse, backup a little. Go to drive, RPM drops like crazy, and car stalls. The car won't start.
So I was in a hurry so I pushed the car back in it's spot. I grabbed the other car and went to drop off my wife at work. I came back home and started it again. Started fine..idle fine..everything good.
Now, I tried to run a test. I shifted from Park to Reverse, to Drive...back to R...back to D...back to R...sometimes the car RPM would drop but pick itself up..I could see the RPM going down to about 500.
Well at one point, just after a shift, it doesn't catch itself and it stalls. Then it won't start.
I crank away like a maniac and it won't start. I get out of the car and can smell fuel. I go under the hood and can't find the smell...
This feels like the car is flooding up.
I had a problem with the temperature sensor and that I replaced. The car has brand new Denso 3066 (BPR6ES equivalent from what I read) that the mechanic put in.
So the question is...
Something in the engine dropping caused something to happen...is there a sensor related to the tranny? Has anybody had these symptoms?
I appreciate any help
.
thanks,
Amir
