Hey guys. Installed a 14B On my 95 GST, went ok I guess? Anyways, untill about 4K RPM, the turbo will make 10/13pounds of boost - once we get past 4K RPM, it just gains boost VERY fast. Doesn't stop untill it hits a fuel-cut. We have the boost controller turnd all the way down.

Anyways, the boost controller worked fine on the car when it had its T-25, so I dun think its that. And the 14B Actuactor came off of a first gen that sits int he driveway so I know it working (worked the otherday when I drove the first gen, holds 14plds with no problem.) The boost controller is T'd offa the BOV, and and we've got that inlet that is on the intercooler piping leading to the intercooler cap-d we'll be hookin' the boost controller up the right way (to that pipe) soon when we've got free time.

I was wondering why I'm getting over 25 pounds of un-controllable boost? LOL.
The stock injectors are on the car, and it has a S-AFC installed. Could it be boost creep? Should be port the exhaust manifold? ...

Help? Thanks.

i had the same problem with my 97 gst, i got the 14b on there also. Anyways i never had the boost controller hook up right. You have to tee off the bov line that runs to the intake manifold, run a vac line from that tee to the boost controller and then from the other side of the boost controller run it to the wastegate, and cap off the hole in the j-pipe. Then just play with the boost controller to try and get like 15 16 pounds of boost. Once over 16 pounds you will probably hit fuel cut, so dont go over 16 pounds. :thumb:

sounds to me like the wastegate flapper is getting stuck or something. that's my guess anyway. take off the actuator arm and see if you can move the flapper by hand without any binding. if that's okay, look to make sure the actuator arm itself isn't binding on the arm of the wastegate flapper. if all else fails, disconnect the arm and drive it. the flapper door should stay open fully and shouldn't speed up boost real quick at all.

just some things to check for.

yeah, but it takes away all the fun. so long as it's not stuck you shouldn't get much boost at all. you'll drive around really slow but at least you'll be safe. if it's sticking shut, that's when ya get the infinate amounts of boost. bad!!!

if it's stuck open, the boost is gonna be minimal anyway. boost control is outta the question. there isn't any!!! but maybe that's what you were tryin to say. i dunno :D

my freind had this same problem when he went from t25 to 14b his BC didnt work. he originally had it tapped on the bov vac hose, and all was fine with the t25. then when we swapped in the 14b, the bc didnt work and was sucking in air instead of bleeding it out. we then drilled into the j-pipe and installed a tap there, and bang his boost controller works.
