Oil burnage and CEL light...

The lovely sight and smell of white-blueish smoke is eminating from my exhaust. Cel light is on and reading a catalyst effeciancy failure. The smoke will dissappear and reappear every so often, but is increasingly more occurant. I fear it may be the turbo, car seems to drive fine other than the embarresing cloud fallowing me. Any suggestions to make sure this is the problem. I replaced the motor on the car when I bought it but used the turbo that came with the car (told is was a brand new turbo, and it acted like it). The motor the turbo was strapped to spewed its guts and I found bits of metal in the oil in the head of the junked motor. Could these bits have ate the seals on the turbo?

well, metal shavings aren't gonna be the best for it. but white smoke is usually water. anywho, check the play on the turbo. best i can suggest without any further info.

my car is doing the samething. I read from a 4 dollar manual bought from ebay, and it stated turbo seal oil leak into exhuast or unburned fuel. For my car, I've just put on a t04 hybrid and thats when the problem started. It smoke when car is run for at least 1 hour+ and at idle. Is this similar to yours?

Indeed thats the problem, seals are shot and when the turbo is warm enough oil leaks right past them directly into the exhaust. The smell is hideous and instead of a darker blue color its bluish white.. Nasty stuff, time for a new turbo... allready :thumbdown
