Ok I have a major cut out problem in my car and it seems like its only in second gear but that may be because of when im pulling. Ok at first I thought the studdering might be the clutch slipping so I set the cruise on 45 and headed up a hill and no rpm jumping so thats good right? If it was slipping it would jump up. I don't think it could be fuel cut because im basically stock I guess the pump could be going out though. My thoughts were that it could be bad spark plugs making the engine to miss. When I really get on the car in second gear it'll hit 5100 rpms and just studder like crazy could it be a rev limiter or something? It doesnt studder when I slowly build up to 5100 only when I get on it with some boost. Also does anyone know where they stick those ebay "speed chips" in on the car because the guy I got the car from was a MAJOR ricer and wanna make sure he didnt put one of those damn chips on there.
thanks in advance guys

a bad fuel pump will not make the car hit fuel cut, it will cause it to not run. a fuel pump is either good or bad. no in between.

doesn't sound like fuel cut, but i think from what i here you might get it with this.

you are on the right track. it sounds to me like it could be a boost leak, or a weak spark in one of the cylinders.

i would check for a boost leak first, that what i am leaning towards more.
go to www.vfaq.com they have an article on how to make a tester to test for leaks.

do you have a boost gauge?

Are you sure fuel pumps cant be on there way out? I just got a talon and finished putting it together and the fuel pump barely drizzles out fuel. Its not a constant pressure as it should be but its pushing some out. The car starts but wont go above 3500 rpm due to the extra needed fuel the pump is just not supplying. My car is completely stock and the fuel filter was replaced before I went ahead and checked the fuel pump.
