Engine hesitation [please help]

Hey guys I thought you might be able to help me out here. My 99 GSX seems to be hesitating while I am accelerating. It feeels like its pushing forwards then it boggs down and then pushes forward again... Also when I have to break somewhat hard all of a suddent the car feels like it goes into low gear really fast... like a sudden break feel and loss of power... I'm not sure what it is that might be causing this. Any ideas or suggestions would help out alot! My 99 GSX is completely stock no mods and has about 40K miles on it now. Thanks in advance.

Yes im sure its far from it though, with the condition your gsx is in.
I would check plugs, wires, and fuel filter
