Heater Control Problem???

My heater control is wierd! I can have my knob turned completely to defrost and it still blows a little bit of air out of the side door lower vents and the middle vents. Also, when on Defrost, I noticed my car blows harder on the driver side than the passenger side. I can put my hand over the driver door defrost vent and feel the warm air coming through. When I do this to the passenger side I can barely feel any air coming through. Really makes for an uneven defrost in the morning.

Anybody have any suggestions or ever had this problem? Thanks for any info/help.

I don't have a suggestion to fix the problem, just know that my 94 n/t had it, and my hubbys 91 n/t does it too.
