when i start the car i have a lot of trouble getting into any gear. i have to stomp on the clutch to the floor in order to get anywhere. the first 10 minutes of driving are hell until it warms up and i can shift fine. for the first ten minutes the clutch is real mushy and sticks a little. this weekend i plan on bleeding the system and using synchro mesh. any suggestions on what the problem is??

Refill it with synchromesh and bleed your system. If you still have problems it could be engage point. Adjust the clutch pedal or extend your slave cylinder rod.

thanks man, thats what i had planned on doing. i just wanted to make sure i was headed in the right direction. anyone have any tips on how to bleed the system? ive only done itonce and that was one a mercedes so im sure theres a difference. -sorry for the dumb question-

please post what the resolution was btracer.......mine jsut started doing the same thing. It started as mushy and sticking on the floor until the car warmed up but now no matter how much the car is warmed up the clutch sticks to the floor. As if there is no pressure. getting the car home was a chore.....had to start it in 1st gear everytime i came to a stop and shift with no clutch.......not as hard as it sounds but im sure it wasnt good for the car. i will check out the car this weekend when i get some time

Finally got around to flushing the clutch. Popped the cap on the reservoir......bone dry. Added fluid then cracked the fitting on the master cylinder to make sure there was no air in that first loop.....good, no air just fluid. then had someone pump clutch while I cracked the nipple on the slave........first 2 or 3 times there was nothing and the clutch was still having to be pulled off the floor.........after about 3 times fluid came out......very dirty......kept the reservoir filled during this whole ordeal.......then after about 10 times pressure was starting build back up in the pedal......about 30 times later the fluid was fairly clear and the clutch wasn’t sticking or mushy anymore. Tightened the nipple up and made sure the reservoir was filled then capped it.......started the car and took it for a drive. Clutch feels better now then when I bought it last year. 100 times better. Thanks for all the help from the many thread I read thru........also noticed that now the clutch doesn’t catch right off the floor........it’s about 2 or 3 inches off the floor now. Thanks again dsmtuners.........hope this helps u out BTracer if u haven’t already fixed urs
