I just bought a 1990 Eagle Talon TSi and just recently I have noticed a bit of smoke under the hood when the engine has warmed up. It smells like burnt oil. I just filled up the power steering fluid as I checked it today and it was low. I spilled a little bit on the side of the PS Steering bottle but not enough to make it smoke. The smoke seems to be coming from the front/center of the engine, under the turbo or something. Theres slight signs of oil around the valve cover gasket/timing belt cover, and looks like moisture on the underside of the hood on the heat cover. I took off the heat shield over the exhaust mani and theres no signs of burn oil or anything. The turbo spools and boosts fine. The engine is not overheating or anything either What/where coild this oil be burning? My friend has a lift, so I probably will degrease the engine bay and try to see exactly where the smoke is coming from. Anyone have any ideas?
