the other day my car started gradually running poorly, I could'nt figure it out, then one morning my car would'nt start, it would crank good, but never run, so I checked for fuel/spark/fuel pump/mpi fuse, all checked out good. so a fellow dsm friend
told me to check for codes on my datalogger, I picked up code 21 "coolant temp sensor"
checked the wires to the sensor and sure enough, they became brittle and broke, so I crimped them back together, and my car fired right up! I still have the poor performance though, also my data logger showed that my batt. voltage wil not go above 13.2v even when I rev the hell outta the engine, so I'm gonna start with a new battery and go from there!

I did'nt think something like a coolant temp sensor could keep my engine from running but it did and it was a simple fix!

thanks for all u dsm guy's who tried to help! I hope this helps you too, now that you know!

the coolant temp sensor for the ECU when not working will cause the engine to run very rich.

On your voltage check your terminals. I buy cheap batteries and probably my stereo also has something to do with it but they can boil over a little and the terminals corrode. One time it got bad enough where voltage wouldn't pass so check those bad boys. Also more likely your alternator than the battery is bad could be a belt or bad alternator.

I'll check it cause it is corroded a little, can the voltage at 13.2 max make the car run crappy?
I kinda think it would but, what do you guy's think?
