Ok here's the deal. I have a 91 GST. All stock, 160K+ miles.
The problem is this. In the mornings or after the car hasn't been driven for a while, long enough to cool down, I have trouble starting it up. The car tries to crank but it won't turn over. Sometimes it will start up, idle for a second at about 500rpm and then die. It will do this over and over until finally it catches and will run. Once it's running the car runs fine. But getting it started in the first place is the problem.
Any ideas? I know I have a slight leak in the head gasket which is causing a small oil leak. I've been keeping on top of the oil level to make sure it doesn't get too low. Could this be the problem? If so how much would it cost to fix it and what would it entail.
The spark plugs are brand new I just had them changed, same with the wires, and fuel filter.
I'm a bit short on money so, hopefully it's not some major problem. Any help or pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
