HELP for inspection

Boought the car as is. The guy did a inspection check for me for free today. He said I need 2 new front tires, and when he was checking them all he noticed they were H speed rated. He told me they all need to be V rated to pass inspection???

The only other thing he said they wouldnt pass me is that he found oil leaking onto the exhaust(which causes a fire hazard).

He noted to me tho that the Differential is loose, and that my headgasket is leaking. These wouldnt stop me from getting a inspection though. I want to get these fixed though

Question is though is how much is this going to cost me. And which of this can I do myself to save money. Im going to buy for crap tires since i'll be getting new tires&rims in spring. Other wise the car he said is in perfect shape. And no sign of anything wrong with the crank

I thought 2Gs had a speed lockout? In wich case the H rated tires should be ok I would think?

As far as the other problems (headgasket) it all depends on how industrious and brave you are. VFAQ.COM along with a service manual could get the job done if your willing and able. I don't know much about having a "loose differential"..I might pose that question in the transmission forum if you don't get any responses here as to what to do about that.

if he has a gsx like it says, they must be v, fwd's can get away with h's.

that wasnt the question though. I wanted to know if I am able to use H rated since auto's have a govener..

If your car is able to go over 100(or was it 130?) then you need over H rated tires.
