I was driving home from work when the car just lost all power. It seems to idle fine and rev , but only up to 3000 rpm. When I drive, it has no power at all. I checked the fuel pressure and its at 37 with the vacuum line off. no smoke, ticks, or bangs. Also the logger says that timing is good. Anybody have any ideas?
 
I checked and there's no intake hoses off. Plus, I have a blow through setup so It would'nt affect it unless it was right by the throttle body. More detail: It's a new stroker with less then 1000 KMS on it. The head had some bent valves so I just rebuilt it 2 days ago. The other night the boost spiked to 25-28 and it sputtered, backfired, and left the guy behind me in a cloud of smoke. After that it ran fine for a day and a half ( not sure if relevant.) until today. The motor seems to run the same but chokes off around 3500 with no load and won't go above 2000 with a load. anyone?
 
JE 8:5:1, eagle rods,crowers stage3 cams,unorthidox cam pulleys,oringed block with Mitsu 4 layer metal gasket. 60-1 turbonetics, balanceshafts removed,aeromotive afpr, GM maf and translator,and afc II. Oh,ya, forgot: walbro 255, 780 inj.
 
And useless info mods: 3" turboback, deltagate,turbo xs dual stage boost controller,turbo xs rfl, shep race tranny, fidanza flywheel, act 2600, magnecore wires, new rad, B&M oil cooler, fex-a-lite fan, and egt,boost, and oil press. gauges. The only problem is I can't drive the stupid thing because it keeps breaking on me. I could write a book titled
"Bad luck with my DSM" So any ideas would be great to help me with the process of elimination.
 
You'll never beleive what the problem was.......I bought a $12 cone filter with the center chrome cap. The turbo sucked the cap into it,like a cork. The engine was getting almost no air. Now there is a new problem. I drove it 15 min home like that. When I took the cap out. The engine ran fine but oil started pouring out of my blow off valve. I took the intake pipe off and oil shot out. Do you think that running it for so long caused the negative pressure in the turbo to suck the oil through the seal? Also , being that the seal in a steel ring, do you think that it may still be ok?
