Click from wheel

Arite check it out fellas...everytime i start moving in my car(as in regular launch in first gear), i hear this click noise coming from my right tire it sounds like. i dont know what its from, it used be less before, but it seems like its almost everytime now a days, i was wondering waht this cud be.....FWD GST SPYDER. thanks

It could be a ton of things. A bushing could be worn out and your just clicking metal against metal (no harm done just annoying).

Jack that side up and start yanking on different parts and tie rods. If you can get something to move and make a click...congrats.

Also check your CV joint and axle. Mine was doing that, cause the axle got twisted up in the wheel bearing somehow. Anyway......no more clicking.

Andrew is correct.

Check these
- Jack the car up. check for grease from the CV joint boot. If there is grease "flung" on the wheel well area, you have a failed CV joint.

- While driving, make a right turn, if the clicks are brief, you have a failed wheel bearing, if the "click" continue until the car is straight, you got a failed CV joint.

no the click comes rite off take off, it doesnt continue while i get going....im worried somethign will happen when i go to the tracks sometime next month while i launch around 3k...but im not too famiiliar w/ this stuff, how shud a cv joint look like fo rme to look for it

I had a click from my right front wheel for a while. Turned out that it was cause my rotor on that side had a crack in it. Inspect your rotors very carefully around the outside edges on both sides for any hair like cracks. Mine occured from trying to stop real fast, loose control and land in the water (in a ditch on the side of the road.) No damage otherwise. The crack in the rotor will make the click until you speed up real fast. Not good to have though, and you'll want to fix that pronto.

well its been a while since i posted this, but i fixed the problem, it was the wheel bearing, if ne one is havin the same problem and hearin this noise while driving straight and not turning, its the wheel bearing...if the noise comes from turning, it has to do with the axle set me back 200 bux for parts n labor though... :thumbdown

I have the same exact issue right now. Whenever i make a turn or when i first launch the car (like normal driving), i hear a clicking noise. I think its the axle so i already bought an axle to replace it but my buddy today told me it could be the bushings. Whatever it is, i will surely get rid of that awefull noise that distracts me and makes me nervous like the wheel is gonna fall off or something.

i have heard some cv horrow stories...if you snap the cv joint you no longer have control of the tire and it will pull as hard as it can trashing your suspension...and depending how fast and what ya hit your car...

well the wheel bearing did it for me, didnt need to change the axle.
