Well, my car is now starting to do some crazy things. My voltage guage on my turbo timer is readng a very low 10 volts, and sometimes my power windows, powerlocks, and my radio just shut off while I am driving. My idle is starting to be a little bit lower but it is not too bad. Is it possible that my ECU is starting to go bad? I also hear a ticking that seems like it is coming from my dash, and it is not the lifters ticking.

Solution
I figured out the problem, It was a short in my power locks that kept draining my battery so I just pulled the fuse on the locks so I can at least drive the car.Thanx a lot for all of your help guys. Does anyone have an idea of what the ticking behind my dash is because I don't think it is my ecu because their are no cap leaks or fishy smell. Possibly a relay or solenoid? The ticking is louder when it is cold outside. :talon:

get your caps on your ECU replaced ASAP...

Ask a local DSM shop to do it for you, usually they know how, or you can do it yourself if you know how to sauder...

to be sure if ur caps are leaking take out your ecu, remove the metal casing, and look at the plugs (picture on vfaq) and see if they are leaking, if they are, replace them ASAP :)

Trbtln, Jesse is correct.Chage the caps as soon asap.

Good luck

My ecu has been ticking for a while now, and when I went to start up my car this morning it wouldn't start and it would make a buzzing noise from where the ECU is? Now when I turn my key to start it nothing at all happens. It doesn't start and none of the dash lights come on. I just replaced my battery so I know thats not the problem. Do you guys think my ECU is fried? :(

yes it does sound like the ECU. Take the ECU out and look for leaking caps (looks like molases). Does your car happen to smell funny also?

I checked the ecu and their was no sign of leakage and I did not smell anything. I am starting to have a feeling that I got a short somewhere in the electrical system and it keeps draining my battery down but I am not sure. Any suggestions?
