Another Problem. (what failed from these syptoms???)

About and hour ago on my way to school, i downshifted slowly to get into another lane while accelerating gently. Anyways, immediatly after i got into the other lane, i could smell it. i knew RIGHT AWAY it had something to do with oil. White smoke billowed out for about 2 seconds as i got into the other lane, and immediatly as i turned the corner where my school is the oil pressur started dropping dramitcally. Engine stayed cool, just loss of power (a bit) and oil pressure dropped. I pulled into the parking lot followed by a TRAIL of oil, shut her off immediatly. pop the hood, ####in a... oil EVERYWHERE. well, i guess i cant say that. Oil had sprayed or exploded, i dont know, all over the right side of the engine bay around the timing belt, oil pump, spark plug wires, alternator... yea you know what i mean. So.... im sitting here at school, and i only have class til 11:25. I really do NOT want to leave my baby here not knowing what the problem is. Just rebuilt the head about a week ago. She was running fine for 6 days, till today. Any, and I mean ANY help, would be greatly appriciated. I know you guys know your stuff, so I'll be listening. :) Thanx guys.

WOE BE UNTO YOU WATER TO AIR COOLER USERS...

Been there dude - learned the hard way although I just stuck my son under there for 1/2 a day... Tighten the Oil Filter & top it off - Might take 3 quarts - the Oil will be all OVER the Freaking place underneath - on the sides - the Rear Bumper... Put it on Car Ramps at home & get a Bushel of Rags & Spray Cleaner - then get rid of that POS Stock Cooler...

buck u know these cars too well. it got towed, took it to shop right away thinking it was something alot more major. this actually happened before and you actually yelled at me before BUCK, but i just followed up on that thread yesterday so i didnt know about this water to oil cooler. i think i'm finally going to take your advice and fix this problem. AND i'm using a fram oil filter, not mitsu... :D please dont kill me.

I apologoze for yellin at you but there are one of these Threads about EVERY DAY now - It PAINS me to see these Motors go up in smoke lacking such a simple repair.

You are a 2G - so to the best of my knowledge you need an EVO OFH because that is the 7-Bolt OFH with the Low Oil Temp Oil Cooler Cutoff Valve that you DEFINITELY need in freaking Wisconsin - & an Aftermarket Air to Oil Cooler of course.

OR-

You could Mod your Oil Filter Bolt similar to mine & use the unused Ports on your OFH & plumb up an Aftermarket Low Oil Temp Oil Cooler Cutoff Valve & an Aftermarket Air to Oil Cooler of course.

OR-

If your OFH lacks unused Ports there are adapter Kits for your existing OFH that go where the POS Water Cooler is that have Ports for the Low Oil Temp Oil Cooler Cutoff Valve & Aftermarket Air to Oil Cooler.


Check our Vendors or any REAL auto Parts store - they have this stuff.

Until you fix this run only Mitsu Filters with the T shaped gasket!

& that HEAD thread is just a cut & paste of stuff a buncha guys on that OTHER Board posted with a few tweeks added by me that I picked up when I did the head Job on mine.
